January 2012 Newsletter

It’s hard to believe 2012 is here and if you are
like me, you will spend the first couple of weeks
dating everything 2011. I have a few tips I want
to share, as I may have shared some last month, to
get you through the upcoming cold months: Be sure
to unhook all of your outside hoses. When snow
plows come around, be sure to clear your downspout
drain holes at the curb side as soon as possible.
Make sure all plumbing that is susceptible to
freezing weather is protected or drained and shut
off for the winter. Be sure to check your clothes
dryer discharge vent to ensure it doesn’t freeze
shut. Hint, if your dryer is taking much longer to
dry a load, you should check it.

Here are some fun facts about the great and ever
underestimated solution of vinegar.
- Remove stubborn stains from furniture
upholstery and clothes, apply white vinegar
directly to the stain, then wash as directed by
the manufacture.
- Kill unwanted grass by pouring vinegar in
crevices and between cracks.
- Relieve itching by using a cotton ball to dab
vinegar on bug bites.
- Prevent ice from forming on your car windshield
overnight by coating the window with a solution of
3 parts white or cider vinegar to one part water.

Amanda Plumbing had its annual holiday party
December 10th. It was a pleasure to see our hard
working men and women let their hair down and
enjoy themselves. It was a time to reward all of
them for their extremely hard work throughout the
year.

We are getting closer to going online with our
new dispatching software, which hopefully will
keep our customers on the phone less time and make
our operation more efficient.
We look forward to another great year with the
Amanda Plumbing Family and look forward to the
next time we can help you in any way.

Happy New Year from our family to yours!
